About Our Program
The Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships to students, from high school through undergraduate programs, looking to pursue careers in construction and engineering-related fields. Founded in 1999, in honor of Forrest and Konrad Schweiger after their untimely passing, by Advanced American Construction; a full-service general contractor providing heavy civil, marine, industrial, diving, and engineering services to public and private clients throughout the western United States.
A selection committee reviews applicants based on their achievements and goals, and the scholarships are presented to these outstanding students at the Annual Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Awards and Celebration each spring. Many of the scholarship recipients participate in Advanced American Construction’s robust paid internship program, which provides practical construction experience for students in related fields. The Schweiger Memorial Scholarship also offers a $2,500 Veteran Scholarship—sponsored by the Ashback Family—for students who are currently serving, or have served, in any branch of the US Military.
Thanks to contributions from Advanced American Construction's customers, vendors, employees, and friends over the last 20 years, the memorial fund has awarded 238 scholarships totaling $730,000 to outstanding students pursuing degrees in construction and engineering-related fields.
